Festival Program Note

The rig “locks”… then wriggles—UI doodles wink, pixels grin, and laughter lands perfectly on beat. A toy-box troop of misfits proves the bug was the feature all along.

Lead Puppet Producer

Riff – Riff treated this track like a stress test for the rig and the crew’s sense of humor, piling happy-hardcore energy on top of tech-trance bones until the whole thing felt like a DAW having a giggle fit. She wanted the festival itself to feel like it was in on the joke—UI doodles, misbehaving pixels, and all (We're not kidding, if you look at the spectral frequency display, she smudged in a smilely face). The brief she gave the room was simple: “If you’re not smiling at the drop, we’re not done yet.”

Track Dedication

Dedicated to the ghostwriters, topliners, and lyricists who keep everyone else’s stories moving while your own ideas sit in notebooks, voice memos, and half-finished sessions. You’ve written a lifetime supply of “baby, baby”s and “oh yeah, party”s on demand, even when your brain was begging to build worlds instead of just hooks.

This song might be pure chaos, but the whole Feltware project is my reminder—mostly to you, a little to myself—that dance music can still be a storytelling medium. You’re allowed to use the same craft you hide behind other people’s names to tell your kind of weird, layered, honest stories too. This one is for every writer in the back room who’s itching to make the lights and lasers carry a narrative again.

Fur and static on the motherboard
A googly eye on the circuit board
Piggy's hacking with a hi-ya
The firewall just sang an opera
The code is clean, the lines are straight
But we're the bug that makes it great
The Swedish chef just plugged the sink
Into the main data link

The kick drum's hitting, boom, tis-tis
Fozzy's telling jokes to the abyss
Waka-waka bass drop pending
This whole night is auto-bending

Syncopate the chaos, break the grid
We're the feltware bug that can't be hid
Animal on digital drums
Till the sub-bass hums
We're the update you can't deny
The analog glitch, the reason why
The system's crashing, loud and bright
Puppetcore
Night, night, night, night

Felt and filters, fur and bass
We just took over the whole place

Beaker's meeps are in the sampler
Pitched up high, a vocal mangler
Bunsen's dropping science base
All over the place
Sam the Eagle tried to stop it
Said, this is madness, please just drop it
We just turned his speech to eight-bit
Now he's the hook and he can't quit

The rise is climbing, shh, shh, shh
We're the chaos in the big push
Statler's heckling the algorithm
That's not trance, it's just a spasm

Syncopate the chaos, break the grid
We're the feltware bug that can't be hid
Animal on digital drums
Till the sub-bass hums
We're the update you can't deny
The analog glitch, the reason why
The system's crashing, loud and bright
Puppetcore
Night, night, night, night

You know, it's not easy, being a glitch
Felt stars on a digital sea
Is this real or just a memory
A lonely honk in the data stream
A single analog fuzzy dream

Is the system ready
Aye, No, Aye, Yes
The beat unstable
Yes, Captain, Gonzo
Let's go

Syncopate the chaos, break the grid
We're the feltware bug that can't be hid
Animal on digital drums
Till the sub-bass hums
We're the update you can't deny
The analog glitch, the reason why
The system's crashing, loud and bright
Puppetcore
Night, night, night, night

We broke it
We definitely broke it
